TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Track and Field travels to College Station, Texas, for the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field West Region First Round, which opens on Wednesday, May 28, hosted by Texas A&M.
NCAA First Round Outdoor Championships include two competitions, one in the West region and one in the East, and feature the top 48 athletes in each event and the top 24 relay teams. The top 12 regional finishers will punch their ticket to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., on June 11-14. The action begins at 8 a.m. MST on Wednesday, May 28, with the men's hammer first round, and the event ends on Saturday, May 3,1, with the women's 4x400 Relay at 6:45 p.m. MST.

Each day of competition alternates between men's and women's events, with the men competing on Wednesday and Friday and the women competing on Thursday and Saturday. Wednesday and Thursday have identical schedules with the field events starting at 8:00 a.m. MST and track events beginning at 4:00 p.m. MST. Friday and Saturday have identical schedules with field events beginning at 11:00 a.m. MST and track events starting at 3:00 p.m. MST.

Reinaldo Rodrigues enters the NCAA First Round ranked No. 4 in the nation (8.05m/26-5) in the long jump after taking home the first conference title of his career just over a week ago. Senior
Zach Landa enters the first round ranked No. 3 in the shot put (20.64m), after earning podium finishes in multiple events at the conference championship.

Extine is third nationally (13.17) in the 110m hurdles and will compete on Wednesday, May 28 at 4 p.m. MST. If he advances, the men's 110m hurdles quarterfinal is on Friday, May 30, at 5:25 pm MST.

Koudssi enters the men's discus first round ranked 9th nationally (59.71m), Landa is 10th (59.41m), and Hala'ufia is 17th (58.23m). The men's discus first round is scheduled for Friday, May 30, at 11 a.m. MST.

On the women's side of the track,
Jade Brown enters the NCAA First Round ranked No. 5 in the 100m nationally (11.07). The women's 100m first round is scheduled for Thursday, May 2,9 at 5 p.m. MST.

Tack enters the regional ranked No. 10 in the javelin (54.37m), and she begins competition on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. MST.

The women's 4x400m relay team looks to build on its third-place finish at the Big 12 Championships. It enters the NCAA First Round ranked No. 11 nationally (3:33.88). Simms, Hall, Aguilar-Perez, and Sanchez Nunez compete on Saturday, May 31, in the quarterfinals at 6:45 p.m. MST.

Sanchez Nunez finished 4th in the 400m hurdles at the Big 12 Championships and enters the competition ranked No. 6 nationally (56.18). The 400 hurdles first round is scheduled for 6:20 p.m. MST on Thursday, May 29.
