TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Men's Tennis head coach Clancy Shields has announced the addition of Pepijn Bastiaansen to the Wildcats' 2025-26 roster.
Bastiaansen, a native of Eindhoven, The Netherlands, arrives in Tucson with an ATP world ranking of No. 977 — an exceptional accomplishment for a college newcomer and a testament to his readiness for high-level competition. He also holds a UTR rating of 13.11, making him one of the highest-rated recruits to join the collegiate ranks this season.
"We are super excited to welcome Pepijn to our family here at Arizona," said assistant coach Alexander Free. "The more you get to know Pepijn, you see that not only is he a gifted and experienced tennis player, he's a great person who's going to add a tremendous amount to our locker room and to our program on the court. Pepijn shares our vision of being one of the elite programs in the country, and I'm excited to get to work with him this season."

On the ITF professional circuit, Bastiaansen captured a 15K doubles title in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Poland, and reached the singles final at a 15K event in Pretoria, South Africa. He brings valuable international experience and a professional mindset to the Wildcats' roster as the program continues its rise on the national stage.
