Arizona Soccer Adds Pair of Arizona Natives from TCU

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Soccer has added two in-state standouts to its roster with the addition of transfers Lainey Swanson and Ally Brown from TCU, head coach Rebecca Moros announced on Tuesday.

Both Phoenix natives and Xavier College Prep products arrive in Tucson after helping TCU compete at the national level and bring championship experience from both the collegiate and club ranks.

"Lainey is a top footballer, and she scores goals. We're excited to bring her back home to Arizona and to see what she can do in our system and style of play. I'm confident we're a great fit for each other and looking forward to seeing how she integrates into the team," said Moros. "Ally is class in the midfield. She has a big engine and will work well with the players playing alongside her. She's box to box, and the fans are really going to enjoy watching her play. We're glad she chose to come home to the U of A. Get ready for big things."

Lainey Swanson appeared in nine matches during her freshman season at TCU, totaling 102 minutes on the pitch. She made her collegiate debut against Texas and played a season-high 35 minutes in a win over Iowa State.

Prior to TCU, Swanson starred at Xavier College Prep and for SC del Sol under coach Tommy McNaughton. She earned 2025 AIA Offensive Player of the Year and 2025 6A Offensive Player of the Year honors while helping lead her team to two state championships. Swanson also captured four GA conference championships at the club level and participated in multiple U.S. Youth National Team identification camps, including Regional and National ID camps.

Ally Brown played in five matches during her freshman campaign at TCU, recording two assists in the opening weeks of the season. She made her collegiate debut in a 6-1 victory over Pepperdine.

Brown played club soccer for Utah Royals FC under coach Tiffany Roberts and helped capture the 2024 ECNL Playoffs Showcase Cup B title. At Xavier College Prep, she became one of only four players in Arizona history to win four state championships.

Brown earned numerous individual honors throughout her high school career, including Arizona High School Sports Awards Girls Soccer Player of the Year, 2024-25 6A Conference Player of the Year, and 6A Premier Region Player of the Year accolades. She was also a two-time All-Arizona Girls High School Team selection and earned multiple all-conference honors.

Arizona opens the 2026 season this upcoming August with the composite schedule being released soon.
