Arizona Soccer Adds Veteran Coach Steve Voltz to Staff

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Soccer head coach Rebecca Moros has announced the addition of veteran coach Steve Voltz to the Wildcats' coaching staff.

Voltz arrives in Tucson following five seasons as head coach at Louisiana Tech, where he guided the Bulldogs to consecutive Conference USA Tournament appearances in 2022 and 2023. During his tenure, Louisiana Tech returned to postseason play for the first time since 2019 and advanced to the Conference USA Tournament semifinals in 2023 after hosting the conference championship tournament for the first time in program history.

"Steve is a veteran coach with experience on the men's and women's sides, experience as both a head coach and an assistant coach, and experience at various levels of the game," said Moros. "He is good at building relationships and cares about the community and the people in it. His connections domestically and internationally will be a benefit to our recruiting efforts as we look to grow our program into the future."

Voltz compiled a 29-33-11 record during his time leading the Bulldogs and coached multiple All-Conference USA performers, including consecutive Conference USA Freshman of the Year selections. Under his leadership, Louisiana Tech posted its highest conference finish and most league victories since 2017 while reestablishing itself as a postseason contender.

Prior to Louisiana Tech, Voltz spent eight seasons at Millsaps College, including six years as head coach of the men's program. He guided the Majors to two Southern Athletic Association regular-season championships, one conference tournament title, and the first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history while compiling a 62-46-5 overall record.

His coaching career also includes collegiate stops at Tusculum, Huntingdon College, and Slippery Rock. Across both the men's and women's game, Voltz has helped develop numerous all-conference, all-region, and All-America performers while working with nationally ranked programs at multiple levels.

In addition to his collegiate experience, Voltz has served in player development roles with Mississippi, Tennessee, and Alabama Olympic Development Programs and brings extensive recruiting connections throughout the United States and internationally.

A native of Offenbach, Germany, Voltz earned both his bachelor's degree and master's degree from the University of Florida. He holds multiple coaching certifications through the United Soccer Coaches and United States Soccer Federation.

Voltz joins an Arizona program that continues to build momentum under Moros as the Wildcats prepare for the 2026 season.
