2017-18: Had the third fastest time on the team in the 200 fly with 1:59.13, earning an NCAA B cut at Pac-12 Championships…Had the fourth fastest team time in the 100 fly with 53.73…Finished in the top-five six times during the season, including third place vs Utah in the 200 fly…Set three personal bests (500 free, 100 fly, and 200 fly)…Named Pac-12 All-Academic First Team…CSCAA Scholar All-America Honorable Mention.

2016-17: Had the fastest team time in the 200 fly with 1:59.41 (NCAA B cut)…Placed runner-up three times, including vs. ASU in the 200 fly…Swam a personal best 4:53.70 in the 500 free and 1:59.41 in the 200 fly at the Pac-12 Championships…Named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team… A CSCAA Scholar All-American Honorable Mention.

2015-16: Named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team…Had the third fastest times on the team in the 100 fly (54.01) and 200 fly (1:59.76)…At Pac-12 Championships, finished second in the C final of the 100 fly with her season-best time and third in the C final of the 200 fly (1:59.80)…Placed fifth in the B final of the 100 fly and 200 fly at the Texas Invitational…Took fourth against No. 4 Texas in the 200 fly.

2014-15: Had the second fastest time on the team in the 200 fly (2:02.28)…Also had fourth fastest time in the 100 fly (55.22)…Finished 28th at the Pac-12 Championships in the 100 fly and 21st in the 200 fly.

High School: A four-time letterwinner at Notre Dame Prep…Was team captain senior year and MVP sophomore, junior and senior year…Was a four-time division two state champion…Holds school records in the 100 free, 100 fly and 200 free…Rated as the fifth best prospect in Arizona and the 402nd recruit in the nation according to college swimming.com...Was a nine time Scholastic All-American.

Personal: Born Samantha Shea Getzen to Richard and Susan Getzen…Has one sister, Hannah…Planned major is psychology…Likes to bake in her free time…Chose Arizona over ASU, UCLA, USD, WVU and TCU because, “I wanted to improve at swim and represent my home state.”
