2013: An all-Pac-12 honorable mention selectee … Named Pac-12 all-freshman … Led all freshman with a .292 average, sixth overall on the team … Appeared in 57 games, including 55 starts … Started 37 games in left field, nine as the designated hitter, six at second base and three in right field … Spend the majority of the season in the seven-spot in the batting order (29 games) but also spend time in the eight-spot (14 games), six-spot (eight games), five-spot (two games) and nine-hole (one-hole) … Hit five homers and drove in 27 runs on the season, both fifth on the squad … Also fifth on the team with a .451 slugging percentage … Tied for third on the team with eight doubles … Recorded seven multi-RBI games, including a four-RBI outing against UC Santa Barbara (4/7) … Notched 10 multi-hit games, including a pair of three-hit outings (3/28 at Utah; 4/18 vs. UCLA) … Greatly improved her patience at the plate toward the end of the season, evident by her 13 walks drawn in conference play (24 games) and six walks drawn in non-conference affairs (35 games) … Clouted the biggest hit of her Arizona career when she blasted a three-run go-ahead homer in the sixth inning against No. 3 ASU (5/4) which proved to be the game-winner in Arizona’s 6-4 come-from-behind victory … Owned a six game hitting streak (3/9-3/15) in which she enjoyed four multi-hit games and a pair of three-RBI outings … College Station Regional: Started all three games as the team’s designated player … Went 2-for-3 against Baylor (5/17) … With UA trailing by a run in the seventh inning, kicked off the seventh with a single to left and later scored the game’s tying run.
High School: A four-year letterwinner at Whittier Christian High School in Whittier, Calif., under Head Coach Dale Van Duyne ... Awarded league MVP all four years ... Cited as the OC Register Player of the Year for small schools her senior year ... Named team captain and team MVP during senior and junior campaigns ... Selected all-conference, -city and -district all four years while being included on the all-state team her sophomore, junior and senior seasons ... Personal: Born Amanda Jessie Perez in June of 1994 in Whittier, Calif., to Michael and Lucee Perez ... Has one brother Brody Kai (7) ... Father Michael was a wrestler at Penn State and a member of the Olympic and National Teams ... In her free time, enjoys taking groundballs and hanging out with family ... Plans to major in psychology to become a sports psychologist ... Chose Arizona over UCLA, California and Tennessee because, “As soon as I stepped on campus, I knew this was the place for me. I felt it in my heart that it is an honor to be a part of such a strong tradition and to put on the Wildcat uniform and to play for Coach Candrea.”
