TUCSON--The Arizona women's soccer team fell in their fourth straight match 1-0 to UCLA Friday night on Murphey Field at Mulcahy Stadium.

Freshman Jensen Skinner led the Wildcats with three shot attempts for the night, followed by sophomore Brittany Cole with two. Freshman Ana Montoya and sophomores Ariel Boulicault and Kristyn Magyar made one attempt apiece for Arizona's 8 shot total.

"This was a hard fought match," said head coach Lisa Oyen. "We played a quality game, but had one lapse late in the game that cost us. We talked to the girls after the game, and told them that making mistakes late does not give a lot of time to correct them. We had quiet a few chances in the first half, we just were unable to connect. We have to work on taking better chances, but I think we did limit UCLA on theirs."

UCLA (11-7-1, 4-4 Pac-10) out shot Arizona (5-12-2, 1-7 Pac-10) 15-8 for the night. The Bruins were led by junior Sydney Leroux, who made five shot attempts, four on goal, and hit the game winner for UCLA late in the 84th minute of action.

Junior GK Ashley Jett made eight saves on the night, including six in the second half.

"Ashley Jett came up big time for us tonight," Oyen continued, "And our seniors that were out on the field, Becky Barry and Alex Davis also had quality games tonight. As a whole, our performance tonight was good, minus a few key minutes, and we know that the game of soccer is about putting together a whole ninety minutes. I give credit to UCLA. They battled hard tonight, and made it difficult for us to fight back. We know that there isn't a lot between us and some of the top teams in the nation. We're a young team, and it's just a matter of getting some more experience to bridge that gap."

Up next, Arizona hosts No. 17 USC on Sunday, November 7, on Murphey Field at Mulcahy Stadium for their final match of the 2010 season at 11 a.m. Before the game, the Wildcats will honor their three seniors, Becky Barry, Macke Mutz, and Alex Davis.
