FT. WORTH, Texas– The No. 7 Arizona Beach Volleyball team earned some split action in today's Horned Frog Challenge at TCU. The Wildcats dropped to No. 8 LSU, (2-3) and defeated TCU, (4-1) to close out the day of play.
 
This seventh-ranked team now holds an overall record of (7-6) after this weekends competition.
 
UA began its day of play, taking on No. 8 LSU. The Tigers ' No. 2 team of Claire Coppola and Kristen Nuss picked up a win against the Cats' Olivia Macdonald and Olivia Hallaran, (21-13, 21-15). The No. 4 pair of Hailey Devlin and Sam Manley would then go on to earn a victory for the Wildcats as they took the match to three sets against Cati Leak and Maddie Ligon, (17-21, 21-19, 15-8). Madison and McKenna Witt of the No. 1 duo took down LSU's Emmy Allen and Lilly Kessler in consecutive sets, (21-11, 21-15). The No. 5 UA pair of Halli Amaro and Brooke Burling dropped to Riley Yong and Megan Davenport in close sets, (21-19, 21-19).
In a hard fought battle No. 3 tandem, Mia Mason and Kendra Dahlke took the match to three sets, but fell in the third to the Tigers' Olivia Powers and Katie Lindelow, (21-13, 19-21, 15-6).
 
That following morning, Arizona went on to down TCU to conclude the day of play. UA got off to a strong start as the No. 2 pair of Olivia Macdonald and Olivia Hallaran defeated Amy Neal and Jaelyn Greene in consecutive sets, (21-19, 21-19). Mia Mason and Kendra Dahlke of the No. 3 team would take the match to three sets and come out with a win against the Horned Frogs', Sarita Mikals and Ariah Palter, (12-21, 21-18, 15-13). The No. 1 twin duo of Madison and McKenna Witt would then go on to clinch the win as they downed Haven Hill and Molly Scheel  in straight sets, (21-17, 21-15). Hailey Devlin and Sam Manley of the No. 4 team picked up another victory for Arizona as they took down Jillian Bergeson and Avery Arellano, (21-14, 21-15).  To close out the match action, the No. 5 pair of Halli Amaro and Natalie Anselmo dropped to TCU's Shane Peters and Claire Doyle, (21-19, 21-19).  
 
The Wildcats will bring the action back home next weekend, as they get ready to host the Wildcat Spring Challenge March 31- April 1.
