TUCSON, Ariz.– The eighth-ranked Arizona Beach Volleyball team just added two more wins to its record as the team defeated New Mexico and Santa Clara on Friday. UA now holds a (9-6) record with No. 1 pair of Madison and McKenna Witt and No. 2 duo of Hailey Devlin and Sam Manley leading the team with a (11-4) and (12-3) record respectively.

Arizona opened up the day of play as they took on New Mexico and earned an overall (4-1) victory. The No. 1 twin duo of Madison and McKenna Witt earned the first victory if the day as they took down New Mexico's Ashley Helsey and Casssie House in straight sets, (21-13, 21-17). Wildcat pair of Mia Mason and Kendra Dahlke took down the No. 4 pair of Chloe Crappell and Victoria Spragg, (21-17, 21-16). To clinch the win, Olivia Hallaran and Olivia Macdonald posing as the No. 2 pair dominated against the Lobo's tandem of Devanne Sours and Lise Rugland, (21-16, 21-16). Hailey Devlin and Sam Manley of UA's No. 3 team would go on to down Eastyn Baleto and Marisa Doran in consecutive sets, (21-12, 21-16). After a hard fought battle, No. 5 pair of Halli Amaro and Brooke Burling to the match to three sets, but fell in the third, (15-21, 21-16, 10-15). This was the second defeat against New Mexico of the season.

The Wildcats would then go on to defeat Santa Clara, (4-1) to close out play for the day. Madison and McKenna Witt of UA's No. 1 pair took down Nikki Hess and Allison Kantor, (21-12, 21-16). The No.1 duo of Hailey Devlin and Sam Manley defeated the Broncos duo of Taylor Laugero and Hailey Lindberg in consecutive sets, (21-7, 21-7). To clinch the win for Arizona, Halli Amaro and Brooke Burling earned a victory against the No. 5 pair of Ngozi Nwabuzoh and Erin Reineking, (21-17, 21-8). Mia Mason and Kendra Dahlke of the No. 4 Wildcat team owned court one and dominated against Tatiana San Juan and Michelle Gajdka, (21-12, 21-11). After a battle, the Broncos No. 2 tandem of Jensen Cunningham and Kirsten Mead picked up a win against UA duo of Olivia Hallaran and Olivia Macdonald, (21-15, 25-23).

"Today was really exciting for us", said senior McKenna Witt. "Going into the rest of the season, we know we have to be on our best game at all times. We're excited that we were able to get the job done and take care of the ball on our side, especially in this wind, it can be tough to control the ball, but I think everybody did really well with that."

UA will head back to the sand tomorrow as they take on CSU Bakersfield at 11 a.m. MST and Grand Canyon at 1 p.m. MST to close out the Wildcat Spring Challenge.

All five courts will be utilized simultaneously on the hour this weekend and exhibition matches will not be played.
