EL PASO, Texas – The Arizona women's soccer team defeated the UTEP Miners 2-1 in their second exhibition match of the season today. The goals were produced for the Wildcats by
Amanda Porter and
Cali Crisler.
Kennedy Kieneker and Porter also each had an assist.
"I thought it was a great weekend to help us prepare for the season," head coach
Tony Amato said. "We challenged our team to play at home on Friday night, travel Saturday and then play a good UTEP team. I was really pleased with the approach each player took to respond to that challenge and find a way to win today. We can now start focusing on playing a ranked opponent in Oklahoma."
Arizona dominated the game in the shots department as they outshot the Miners 19-3 and had eight shots on goal as opposed to UTEP's one shot on goal
