LOS ANGELES, Calif.– In their first loss of the season, Arizona women fall short against UCLA 139-161.
Hannah Cox won two events, while
Delaney Schnell,
Katrina Konopka, and
Francesca Neubauer each notched a win in the loss to the Bruins.
The LadyCats open the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay.
Aria Bernal,
Mallory Korenwinder,
Mackenzie Rumrill, and
Katrina Konopka finish first with 1:41.56, just five-hundredths before second place.
Cox won the 1,000 free with 9:58.00.
Ayumi Macias finished third with 10:11.02.
Monica Gumina placed second in the 200 free (1:49.75) while
Kirsten Jacobsen finished fourth (1:51.48).
Aria Bernal finished runner-up in the 100 back with 55.68.
Mallory Korenwinder and Neubauer finish second and third with 1:04.22 and 1:04.83, respectively.
Mik Ranslem finished second in the 200 fly with 2:01.47.
Victoria Navarro placed third with 2:05.56.
Konopka won the 50 free with 23.32. The junior placed second in the 100 free with 51.18. Gumina finished right behind her with 51.26 for third place.
Neubauer won the 200 breast with 2:16.98.
Macias placed runner-up in the 500 free (4:57.86) and Jacobsen third (4:59.17).
Mackenzie Rumrill finished second in the 100 fly with 55.20. Ranslem placed third with 56.26.
Cox won the 400 IM with 4:22.51.
Schnell won the 3-meter dive with a total score of 278.40. In the 1 meter, the sophomore finished second with 293.85.
Arizona's A team (Konopka, Jacobsen,
Kayla Filipek, and Gumina) finished runner-up in the 400 free relay with 3:25.70 to wrap up the meet.
