ANOTHER GOLF VICTORY
This week marked the 38th Arizona Intercollegiate hosted by Arizona Men's Golf as Coach Anderson and the team defended their title with a record-breaking performance. The Wildcats downed 11th ranked Arizona State in dramatic fashion to win the event for an eighth time in program history. Arizona tied a tournament record by shooting 37-under par, which was helped by a historically-low third round. Tuesday's final round of 21-under broke the program's all-time single-round record of 19-under par, which Arizona shot in the 2000 NCAA Championships. Arizona Men's Golf bested a competitive field with three teams ranked in the top 20 nationally, including No. 9 BYU, No. 11 Arizona State and No. 18 Texas A&M.
Â
Sophomore Trevor Werbylo paced the winning effort by finishing tied for second at 11-under par. The Cats also got a top-5 performance from senior Ethan Marcus who finished nine strokes under par.
Â
Defending a tournament title and re-writing the record books is one of the best ways to wrap up a golf tournament. A tip of the cap to Coach Anderson, Coach Nallen and all of our men's golf student-athletes on the tremendous performance and for representing the University of Arizona in a championship manner!

Â
CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY MONTH
On behalf of our entire athletics department, I am excited to announce that we will be celebrating Black History Month in a unique way this year. Led by the athletics department's newly-established Inclusive Excellence Committee, we will be collaborating with departments across campus to highlight historical figures in Arizona Athletics history, sponsor programming that will promote education and diversity, and provide networking opportunities for our student-athletes with fellow minorities in the community.
Â
Throughout the month of February, we will release content on all of our social platforms that highlight the achievements of some of our great student-athletes and coaches, both past and present. In addition, I will be highlighting special events and facts in my weekly Wildcat Wednesday emails. We will also be providing full coverage on our website at www.ArizonaWildcats.com.

Â
SOFTBALL PARKING
Arizona Softball is gearing up for the season in the newly-renovated Rita Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium. In addition to numerous in-stadium enhancements, we are pleased to announce that additional game day parking will now be available on the Center Mall for home games throughout the season. The Center Mall Lot will be open for parking beginning two hours prior to the first pitch. Parking on the mall is available on a first-come, first-served basis for $5 for single games and $8 for doubleheaders and tournaments.
Â
Season ticket holders at the Golden Wildcat Club level and above will receive one complimentary parking pass for the Center Mall Lot, which has been sent out with season tickets. Remember, this is still on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking is also available in Cherry Garage and Second Street Garage for a nominal fee on weekdays and free on weekends. Surface lots are available after 5 p.m. For more information on game day parking for Arizona Softball, please click here.
Â
Please note because of the Tucson Festival of Books, the Center Mall Lot will be closed to season ticket holders and parking pass holders for Game 7 (March 2) and Game 8 (March 3). For those two dates, guests will be responsible for finding alternative parking.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT
We are thrilled to announce former Arizona Softball standout Chrissy Alexander is our department's new Assistant Athletics Director for Alumni Letterwinners and Development. The former Chrissy Gil was a standout outfielder for Coach Candrea and the Wildcats from 1996 to 2000 and a member of the program's 1997 national championship team. She was also named both the Raytheon Sport Woman of the Year and the City of Tucson Hispanic Sports & Academic Enrichment Player of the Year in 1999.
Chrissy steps into her new role at Arizona Athletics after spending nine years in McKale Center as a Senior Account Executive with IMG College.
Â
Chrissy is truly a Wildcat for life. It's a great testament to our softball program, athletics department and university to see a former student-athlete who has gone on to become an outstanding role model in our community. Congratulations on the new position and Bear Down Chrissy!
