Wildcat Wednesday - Honoring our Hall of Fame Inductees

It was an honor and a privilege to be a part of last weekend's Arizona Sports Hall of Fame ceremony as we officially inducted eight Wildcat legends. Our athletics department has a tremendous legacy that spans decades and is built on student-athletes, coaches and staff becoming academic, athletic and life champions. Arizona Athletics is a first-class department today because of the incredible careers of Wildcats who have come before us. Our standard of excellence is built by the greatness of these individuals who proudly represented the University of Arizona and our Southern Arizona community with honor.

Soccer Takes Down Sun Devils 2-1 in Front of Record-Breaking Crowd
Arizona soccer completed its 2023 season with a home win over Arizona State, 2-1, in front of a record-breaking crowd of 1,389 on Friday. Thanks to all the incredible fans who came out to support and cheer on the Wildcats!

BEAR DOWN BRUCE HILL
In addition to our Arizona Sports Hall of Fame inductions, we also celebrated a very special member of our football program on Saturday. Former quarterback Bruce Hill joined the illustrious names in the Arizona Football Ring of Honor at Arizona Stadium. Bruce's fantastic career during the Western Athletic Conference era of the program saw him break numerous records and guide the team to historical victories.

One of his most impressive performances came in a 1975 game against New Mexico, in which he threw for a then-school record 406 yards and set the program's single-game record with 451 yards of total offense. Both marks from that game remain in the Arizona Football all-time top 20. Over the course of his three-year career Hill led the Wildcats to a record of 26-7, including a 17-4 record in WAC play, and snapped a nine-game Territorial Cup losing streak for Arizona with a 10-0 victory in front of 40,782 Arizona fans in Tucson in 1974.

Bear Down Bruce! Thank you for proudly representing the Block A during your career and beyond.

WOMEN'S HOOPS HOME OPENER
Coach Barnes and the Wildcats began their season with a 68-57 win on the road at New Mexico State on Monday. Forward Breya Cunningham recorded a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds in her collegiate debut while also blocking five shots.

Arizona Women's Basketball returns to McKale Center this week where they have led the Pac-12 Conference in attendance in each of the last two seasons. Our home environment for women's basketball is second to none and that is because of our tremendous fans who fill the stands with red and blue.

The Cats return for a three-game homestand that begins on Friday, Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m. (MST) with the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks. The home opener will be followed by a Sunday afternoon match-up with Loyola Marymount at 2 p.m. (MST) and then a Tuesday night game versus San Diego at 6:30 p.m. (MST). TICKETING REMINDER
The support of the Wildcat Family has been seen for decades in the seats of all our venues, cheering on our student-athletes. Arizona Athletics is a national leader in attendance in a variety of programs because of you all and the dynamic atmosphere you create for Wildcats to compete in. Seeing our supporters wearing the colors at home events makes our athletics department a special place.

Our move to mobile ticketing several years ago aimed to improve our first-class fan experience by making entry more secure and efficient. We would like to remind our ticket holders about the variety of options for fans with mobile tickets, which include being able to transfer them if you can't attend a game. Our staff at the McKale Center Ticket Office have compiled information on mobile ticketing, which is a great resource for the Wildcat Family.

Did you know you can transfer your mobile tickets? Ticket holders can transfer a ticket before the scheduled start of the event. The transfer automatically expires either 7 days (168 hours) after it is sent or at the scheduled start of the event, whichever comes first. You will receive reminder emails before your transfer expires.

Did you know you can send someone your tickets who doesn't have an Arizona Athletics ticketing account? Yes, you can. With the text message they receive, they will be prompted to create an account if they don't already have one. The recipient supplies first name, last name, phone number, email address, and chooses a password to create an account. They must have an account to complete and accept the ticket transfer.

Pledge Per Win provides a modern take on philanthropic giving, as you are able to celebrate every victory, while your Wildcats receive the benefits towards the 5980 Academic Fund. Learn more about the exclusive items and benefits available when joining the action this 2023-24 basketball season.

Wear UofA - Share Your Wildcat Photos

Here we are in Alaska celebrating our "50th anniversary"! We have been Wildcat fans for over 40 years, most of those years up to the present as Season Ticket holders and Arizona Football Tailgate hosts. In addition, our daughter graduated from the University and now works on campus for the College of Science Psychology.
