Wildcat Wednesday

Wildcat Wednesday - Military and Veteran Appreciation Game

Arizona Football's season of excellence continues as the program enters the top 20 of the Associated Press poll this week ahead of our final home game of the season. Saturday's showdown against No. 16 Utah will also be our first day game of the season at Arizona Stadium with kickoff set for 12:30 p.m. (MST) on the Pac-12 Networks. Our final home game will also be our Military & Veteran Appreciation Game, which is one of my favorite annual celebrations for our athletics department. Honoring those who proudly serve our nation throughout our community is one of the key ways that Arizona Athletics connects with Southern Arizona and its service members at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Fort Huachuca and all tremendous veterans that call Tucson home.
Please make your plans to join us on Saturday to honor our active-duty military and veterans and to cheer on the Wildcats. There are a limited number of tickets available, click here to buy yours.
Please note Saturday is the 40th annual El Tour de Tucson race with 9,000 cyclists racing through the streets of Tucson. Click here to see road closures that may impact your travel to campus.

A BUSY WEEKEND IN MCKALE
Our action-packed weekend on campus also includes a pair of volleyball matches and men's basketball games in McKale Center. Friday's doubleheader includes Arizona Volleyball vs Oregon State at 5 p.m. (MST) before Men's Basketball vs Belmont at 9 p.m. (MST).
Volleyball then takes on Oregon at 12 p.m. (MST) on Sunday before Arizona Men's Basketball faces UT Arlington at 4 p.m. (MST). If you haven't gotten tickets yet for this weekend's volleyball and basketball action, you can purchase them here.

Digital game programs, available by a QR code, can be loaded to your smart device when you sit down in your seats. These digital programs are also included in the gameday emails and the Arizona Athletics app, so you can load them to your device before leaving home for the arena.

TRIATHLON SPOTLIGHT
I want to highlight our Women's Triathlon program that just completed its inaugural season with a terrific showing at the Collegiate Triathlon National Championship in Tempe last weekend. Coach Johnson and the Wildcats established themselves as a program of excellence in their first year, and I am incredibly proud of our newest program.

Triathlon is an emerging sport, and our program is filled with tremendous young women who represent the Block A with honor and distinction. As we regularly do in Wildcat Wednesday emails, we spotlight the stories of our student-athletes. The Bear Down Podcast, the official podcast of Arizona Athletics, featured Kelly Lyn Wetteland who is a three-sport athlete at Arizona as well as head coach Wes Johnson. It's a great watch or listen for the Wildcat Family to get to know the program better.
