TUCSON, Ariz. – Local Arizona product
Carlos Hassey will make his spring debut on Monday, Jan. 7 at the USTA 25k Pro Circuit, which is held right here in Tucson, Ariz. at the Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort & Spa at 245 East Ina Road.

Hassey will play his first match on Monday, Jan. 7 vs. Alexander Lebedev at approximately 11:30 a.m MST.Â

"We are so happy to have professional tennis back in Tucson and we have a local Arizona kid playing in the draw and representing the Wildcats," said head coach
Clancy Shields. "Carlos is a fantastic player and has the ability to step up and play big time tennis. He will be defending his home turf in his own backyard, and I think he will hold his own very well."

The Surprise, Ariz. native is coming off a season in which he finished with a singles record of 14-9 overall. He made a name for himself in the Arizona tennis community at Shadow Ridge High School as he was ranked as high as No. 1 in the state in No. 63 in the nation. He also made the quarterfinals at the Winter National Championships in Phoenix, Ariz.
