OJAI, Calif. - No. 6 seeded Arizona fell to the No. 3 seeded Stanford Thursday by a score of 4-3.Â
Stanford clinched the doubles point to kick off the match by winning on courts one and three.
Jonas Ziverts kicked things off for the Cats in singles by winning in a quick two sets 6-1, 7-5 on court one. Stanford struck back with the next two singles wins on courts two and six from Alexandre Rotsaert and Sangeet Sridhar. To even the score at three, Arizona garnered wins from
Alejandro Reguant and
Carlos Hassey.Â
William Genesen and
Igor Karpovets went the full distance on court three but Genesen walked away with the 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory to clinch the match for Stanford.Â
With this loss, the Wildcats are eliminated from the Pac-12 Championship tournament.Â
