TUCSON, Ariz. – 14 members of the University of Arizona track and field program were named to Pac-12 All-Academic teams on Tuesday, the conference announced. Highlighting the group were
Tatum Waggoner and
Trevor Volpe, who were named Pac-12 First Team All-Academic.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be a significant contributor, and have completed at least one year in residence at their current institution.

Waggoner, a graduate student studying special education, boats a perfect GPA in her field of study. She currently ranks No. 2 in the 400-meter dash on the all time Arizona list in 51.89 and is a member of the ladies 4x400-meter relay team that set a school record with a time of 3:30.67 at the NCAA West Preliminary Round. Waggoner will compete in the both events at the NCAA Championships on Thursday in Austin, TX.

Volpe, a sophomore studying Finance in the Eller College of Management, has a perfect GPA through two years at Arizona. The sprinter set a PR of 10.66 in the 100-meter dash and 21.40 in the 200-meter dash this season. Volpe will compete as a member of the men's 4x100-meter relay team in the NCAA Championships tomorrow.
