Tucson, Ariz.- After a stellar performance last week in Las Cruces where Arizona won a singles and doubles title home with the help of
Conner Olsen and the pair of
Stewart Block/Hiroki Sakagawa, the Wildcats head off to two separate tournaments in Columbia, S.C. and right here at home in Tucson, Ariz. Both tournaments kick off at Friday, Sept. 20 and end Sunday, Sept. 22.

Olsen competed last week at the Aggie Invitational and finished 4-0 while winning the White draw in the singles tournament. In his first tournament with Arizona, Sakagawa won the doubles title with Block and finished with a 3-1 singles record and 4-0 in doubles. Block also finished 3-1 in singles in addition to the doubles title. Horwood began his fall season in Las Cruces, going 2-2 in both singles and doubles.
Last season Karpovets finished with an overall record of 16-8 in singles and 10-7 in the spring, having six wins at the No. 3 spot and two at the No. 1 and No.2 spot. Hassey was named Honorable Mention Pac-12 All-Academic last season and finished second on the team with 18 wins, winning 11 of his first 13 matches.
Lagaev was the No. 2 prospect out of Canada and ranked as high as No. 321 in the ITF Junior Rankings with a 13.09 Universal Tennis Rating and will be debuting for Arizona this week in Columbia. After a great performance last season with an appearance in the NCAA Singles Championships and a 12-7 record, Ziverts will make his first fall appearance of the season. He was also ranked No. 38 in the ITA preseason singles rankings for this season. Malbasic also made the ITA preseason singles rankings at No. 46, finishing last season with a team high 26 wins in singles. Reguant will also be making his first fall appearance this season, finishing last season with a 15-6 record overall in singles, a team best of 9-3 doubles record with Malbasic, and was named Second Team Pac-12 All-Academic.
