BEAR DOWN ARIZONA WOMEN'S HOOPS

I had the pleasure of watching Coach Barnes and the Wildcats beat Washington in Seattle on Sunday to give Arizona Women's Basketball its first Pac-12 road sweep since 2011. The Cats are a very exciting team to watch and continue to emerge as an outstanding program. Arizona Women's Basketball is now ranked 18th nationally and welcome No. 16 Arizona State to McKale Center on Friday for a huge game.

We've seen tremendous crowds at McKale Center all season long, and we are going for another record on Friday night at 6 p.m. (MST). We are aiming for 10,000 fans on Friday night in what will be a dynamic atmosphere. Come be a part of this special season and join us on Friday by dialing 520-621-2287, visiting the McKale Center Ticket Office or purchasing online by clicking here. Bear Down and Go Cats!

Family Weekend is set for Saturday, Oct. 17 as we host USC and Homecoming is scheduled for our Halloween home game versus Oregon on Saturday, Oct. 31.

College football Saturdays are special on our beautiful campus, and we have made continuous enhancements to our game day experience for fans to make the atmosphere in and around Arizona Stadium a great place for all Wildcats in attendance.

We are currently accepting deposits for 2020 season tickets, which are $75 per seat and provide fans access to seating inventory when new ticket sales officially go on sale. Our men's golf team will host the Arizona Intercollegiate at Sewailo Golf Club beginning Monday, Jan. 27. Coach Jim Anderson's team won the event each of the past two years and will be looking for a three-peat this year. Our Wildcats are currently ranked No. 18 in the Golfweek Collegiate Rankings and had an outstanding fall season, finishing third or higher in each of their fall tournaments. The team is led by a quartet of upperclassmen in seniors David Laskin, Briggs Duce and Brad Reeves and junior Trevor Werbylo. The tournament will start Monday with 36 holes, with the winner being crowned Tuesday the 28th after the final 18 holes. See you at Sewailo!

BASEBALL ALUMNI WEEKEND

This Saturday is our Baseball Alumni Weekend, which is highlighted by an Alumni Batting Practice at Hi Corbett on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. (MST). PAC-12 SWEEP FOR COACH MILLER AND THE CATS

mbbhoops

The Wildcats dominated Utah and No. 20 Colorado in McKale Center by a total of 37 points last week, marking Arizona's largest margin of victory in a sweep of the Mountain schools in the Pac-12 era. The environment was electric as McKale Center was powered by 27,828 fans in attendance for the pair of victories. By averaging 18.0 points and 10.0 rebounds a game in the sweep, forward Zeke Nnaji earned his third Pac-12 Freshman of the Week award.

Coach Miller and company only have one game this week as they travel to Tempe for a Saturday night showdown with Arizona State at 7:30 p.m. (MST). Safe travels to all our fans making the drive up I-10 for the game, and we will see you at Desert Financial Arena on Saturday.

WILDCAT AT PAC-12 SUMMIT

beachvb

Arizona Beach Volleyball proudly represented Arizona Athletics at the Pac-12 Conference's Mental Health Summit as junior Jonny Baham was one of two student-athletes who attended on a Pac-12 educational grant among other student-athletes in attendance. Jonny is a Neuroscience and Cognitive Science major who learned a tremendous amount from her fellow student-athletes in attendance.

"It was a great experience for me to learn about all the different mental health initiatives powered by student-athletes at different schools," she noted. "Seeing what other young people were doing and accomplishing was very powerful, and it inspired me to do more with mental health with all student-athletes at Arizona."

Jonny wants to use her trip to the Pac-12 summit to further educate and inform Wildcat student-athletes on the resources available to them, including C.A.T.S. Life Skills programming. Her trip to UCLA for this important event speaks to the tremendous opportunities available to student-athletes through our Commitment to and Athlete's Total Success as we educate and develop all our student-athletes into becoming athletic, academic and life champions.

GYMCATS BACK AT HOME
