Â
Arizona Women's Basketball is amidst one of the best seasons in program history and enters the week ranked No. 16 nationally, marking the program's highest national ranking since 2000. Our average home attendance for this season is 5,608, which is an increase from 2018-19's average of 3,675. Southern Arizona's support of our women's basketball program is something very special to witness, and we want to thank everyone who has made McKale Center an electric environment all season long.
Â
CAREER DEVELOPMENT HIGHLIGHTS
As we have outlined in our strategic vision for our future as well in our day-to-day work environment in McKale Center, people are our greatest resource. We began a career development and leadership series for all staff members, and I was honored to be a presenter as well as Arizona Softball head coach
Mike Candrea.
Â
To see a room filled of McKale staffers, none of whom were coaches, connect with Coach Candrea and his lessons of leadership, development and teamwork was truly special
. He was grateful and thankful to speak to the group of staff members from various departments because he believes in the power of teamwork. Everyone who works in our athletics department is part of the biggest team that supports all our programs, coaches and student-athletes.
Â
Supporting the growth and development of athletics department staff is paramount to the future of our athletics department, and this opportunity is one of the many ways we are investing in our staff.
Â

BASEBALL ALUMNI
Wildcat baseball letterwinners spanning decades made the trek back to Tucson last weekend for Arizona Baseball Alumni Weekend. From legends like Trevor Hoffman, JT Snow, and former head coach Andy Lopez, to recent fan favorites along the lines of Nathan Bannister, Rob Refsnyder, Jared Oliva, and more, former Wildcats showed out. Letterwinners enjoyed an Alumni Reception at head coach
Jay Johnson's home on Friday night and returned to Hi Corbett Field on Saturday afternoon for a thrilling batting practice and BBQ lunch under the sun. It was great seeing so many baseball letterwinners back in Tucson celebrating the program's storied history and bright future.
