WILDCAT FAN CUTOUTS

We've joined the cutout craze that has swept much of the sports world the past few months. Wildcat Fan Cutouts for Arizona Stadium are now on sale. There are a few locations to choose from, including a ZonaZoo Pet Zoo for your pet. Football season ticket holders and Wildcat Club members receive a discount and received instructions on how to use that discount in an email this past Sunday. If you did not receive the email or have questions, please reach out to catsinfo@athletics.arizona.edu.

cutouts

In addition to being a fun way to fill some seats and show our team your support, these cutouts are a way to generate a small portion of revenue to offset the loss of ticket sales. We appreciate your financial assistance.

These cutouts are 100% recyclable and will include an option to either pick up or ship after the season. The deadline to order for our football home opener is Wednesday, Nov. 11. More details can be found here. We plan to have them in McKale this season as well as additional information will be provided in future Wildcat Wednesday emails.

FALL CAMP UPDATE

fbcamp

Coach Sumlin and the Wildcats continue their preparations for the 2020 season as they finish their preseason practices this week. It's been exciting to watch the team take the field with great energy and enthusiasm as the anticipation for the season continues to build. If you haven't kept up on Arizona Football fall practices, you can visit ArizonaWildcats.com for regular camp notebooks with great stats, photos, videos and more.

The Pac-12 Conference did provide some scheduling updates for our season. Our home game versus Arizona State on Friday, Dec. 11 has been set for a 5:30 p.m. (MST) kickoff to be aired on ESPN. The Pac-12 also announced that our remaining times and television designations will be announced in 12-day or 6-day windows ahead of time. We will continue to keep you up to date on all schedule announcements in future Wildcat Wednesday emails.

SOCIAL JUSTICE TREAD

tread

I was a proud observer of Arizona Swimming and Diving's Diversity in Aquatics Social Justice Tread last week, which was a meaningful display of unity in the promotion of equality. Both the men's and women's teams chose to participate on what would have been George Floyd's 47th birthday for 8:46 to honor his life.

The program was able to raise awareness and donations for social injustice causes and was one of several schools participating across the nation. This was a notable display of our athletics department's ongoing support of the University of Arizona's commitment to a vibrant, empowered and inclusive campus.

HOMECOMING 2020

homecoming

The University of Arizona will hold a virtual homecoming this year, beginning on Thursday, Nov. 12. Let's unite and celebrate our Wildcat pride and traditions no matter where we are! This year's celebration will include a virtual lighting of "A" Mountain, virtual tours, webinars and panel discussions, moments of recognition from Arizona Athletics as well as cooking lessons from UArizona's own Chef Michael Omo. Please click here to register for our programming and help us #BearDownEverywhere.

NEW PHOENIX RADIO HOME

radio

We have some exciting news for the Wildcat Family living in the Phoenix area. Our partnership with Arizona Wildcat Sports Properties has created the new radio home of the Wildcats in Phoenix, and you can tune in to KFNX 1100 AM for football and men's basketball game broadcasts as well as coaches shows programming.

Beginning with Arizona Football's season opener at Utah on Saturday, Nov. 7, KFNX 1100 AM will air the Wildcats in action with the voice of the Wildcats, Brian Jeffries, on the call. This new partnership is a great way for our loyal supporters in Phoenix to tune in, stay connected and Bear Down with the Wildcats!

TOGETHER WE BEAR DOWN CHATS

This fall we have really missed interacting face-to-face with our fans, so we are hosting a series called "Together We Bear Down Coach Chats." This will be series of virtual events via Zoom with Brian Jeffries and select head coaches. Season ticket holders and Wildcat Club members will receive an invitation to join live. Other fans will be able to view a recording. While it's not quite the same as seeing you in person, we're looking forward to engaging with you online. Depending on the coaches' schedules, we're hoping to do this once a month for the academic year. The first one is a week from today, Wednesday, Oct. 28, with Tony Amato, Adia Barnes, and Dave Rubio. Soccer, women's basketball, and volleyball season ticket holders and donors will receive an email invitation this week.  We hope to see you there virtually! Bear Down and Go Cats.

POWERING THE RETURN

return-to-work

Last week, we debuted our return to work series that focuses on Arizona Athletics staff who have helped make our return to campus and competition possible. Following our profile on our outstanding strength and conditioning staff, we take a look at our dedicated and compassionate medical services staff. They have been powering our return from the frontlines, and they have gone above and beyond in service to protect the health and wellbeing of our student-athletes and staff. I want to thank our entire medical team and all our dedicated units for your continued service and for making our return possible.

WEAR THE COLORS – SHARE THE PHOTOS

Send us your photos of you wearing the colors while staying safe!

Thank you for wearing the colors and sharing your Arizona pride! Make sure to take a picture the next time you are wearing the colors and send it to us, we just might include it in next week's Wildcat Wednesday! And even if your photo submission doesn't make  next week's edition, please check our "Wear the Colors" album at facebook.com/ArizonaAthletics on Fridays.

NOTE: Please submit photos for Wildcat Wednesday with an original email to uofaad@arizona.edu using the subject line 'Wildcat Wednesday photo.' Also, please ensure all submissions are clear and properly lit. We also ask that you identify everyone in the photo so we can highlight them accordingly.
