Montgomery, Ala.- No. 46 Arizona put on clinic in the first day of the tournament. The Wildcats blew through their first match with No. 27 Middle Tennessee 4-0 to give Head Coach Clancy Shields his 100^th win of his career. Later in the day, the Saguaro Soldiers took the doubles point against #48 Alabama.

No. 64 Jonas Ziverts cleaned out in the No. 1 spot, with #40 Filip Malbasic, Alejandro Reguant, and Nick Lagaev clinch the singles points to lead to the dominant victory. The match against Alabama was close, with Carlos Hassey and Reguant grabbing a quick doubles point, with Malbasic and Lagaev struggling out a close win.

The Cats return to action tomorrow morning to continue the singles portion of the match against the University of Alabama.

Milestone
Coach Shields hit the 100-win mark with the sweep over Middle Tennessee. Shields has lead the Cats to a 10-1 record this season.
