TUCSON, Ariz. -- Redshirt senior
Jill Aguilera was named CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team on Friday. Along with 10 other athletes, Aguilera was recognized as one of the top in the nation for her academic performance as well as her time on the pitch and in her community. This marks Aguilera's second CoSIDA All-America honor, earning third team after her performance during the 2020-21 season.
Aguilera is only the second athlete in program history to receive a CoSIDA All-American First Team honor and the first to receive multiple CoSIDA All-America recognitions. Along with the two All-America honors, Aguilera has received a multitude of academic honors in her years at Arizona. She has been on the Pac-12 Honor Roll three times, received Pac-12 All-Academic honors twice and made CoSIDA Academic All-District twice. Aguilera completed her undergraduate degree in Sports and Society with a GPA of 3.85 and is currently completing her Master's degree in Real Estate Development with an ongoing 4.00 GPA.
In her time at Arizona she has become the leading goal scorer (33) and has played more matches than any other player in program history (92). In the fall of 2020 she had her playing right acquired by the Chicago Red Stars in the NWSL.
