I would like to open this week's Wildcat Wednesday by reiterating our commitment as an athletics department to providing opportunities for student-athletes to become academic, athletic and life champions by supporting new NIL endeavors. Name, Image and Likeness is an enhancement to the student-athlete experience that I have been in full support of, and Arizona Athletics has been at the forefront of NIL in a variety of ways.
In addition to providing education, the Arizona EDGE program has developed resources for our student-athletes to engage in NIL activities that includes being the first school in the Pac-12 to launch a marketplace portal with INFLCR. Key external organizations have launched in the past year with the Friends of Wilbur and Wilma Collective, the Arizona Assist Club and the BPS Foundation enhancing NIL opportunities for Arizona student-athletes.
As I wrote in my letter to the Wildcat Family last week, the next step is broadening awareness of how our incredible community and fans can enhance the Arizona student-athlete experience through NIL activities. These organizations, alongside our Arizona EDGE Marketplace, are new avenues to support student-athletes. This support comes at a critical time as we look to maintain our competitive position in the Pac-12 and nationally. I ask that each of you explore how you can make a difference in the lives of the student-athletes, whether it be through a membership or an NIL-related engagement, as we ensure Arizona Athletics continues its legacy as one of the premier athletic departments in the nation. Thank you again for your unwavering support of our athletics department and its student-athletes.
EXTENDING COACH FISCH'S CONTRACT
We are excited to announce that we have agreed to a contract extension with head football coach Jedd Fisch, pending approval from the Arizona Board of Regents. Coach Fisch has elevated Arizona Football in all facets and built a foundation for a successful future for the program. Jedd has signed elite recruiting classes, tallied four additional wins in his second season and built a deep connection between the community and the program.
The future of Arizona Football is bright under Coach Fisch, and we can't wait to see what the program will accomplish next. If you don't have season tickets yet, you can join us at Arizona Stadium in 2023 by putting down a deposit now of just $75 per seat.
