Tucson, Ariz. - No. 13 Arizona defeats No. 32 Utah 4-0 to remain perfect in Pac-12 play (5-0). The Cats kept a 13-1 record at home during the regular season and they are now 18-5 overall.
The Wildcats play an exceptional doubles competition with Carlos Hassey and Gustaf Strom defeating Fransico Capalbo and Bruno Caula 6-2. Conner Olsen and Colton Smith finished it up 6-3 over Mathias Gavelin and Jayson Blando to finalize the doubles point for Arizona.
The outstanding play continued into singles as the Cats took three singles points to walk away with the win. No. 99 Smith defeated Francisco Bastias in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. Filip Malbasic finished 6-3, 6-0 against Gavelin. No. 53 Herman Hoeyeraal took the last point of the day after his 6-0, 6-3 win over Caula.
Last year in the regular season matchup against Utah, the Cats lost 3-4. This year the Cats defeated the Utes in under two hours.
Arizona will finish out its two matches of the regular season on the road: No. 52 Oregon on Friday, April 15 at 1 p.m. and No. 47 Washington on Sunday, April 17 at 12 p.m.
