Coach Barnes and the Wildcats are ready to begin their postseason with the Pac-12 Women's Basketball Tournament this week in Las Vegas. The Cats are the fourth seed in the tournament at Mandalay Bay, and they will play at 1 p.m. (MST) on Thursday, March 2nd on the Pac-12 Networks against UCLA, the winner of the first-round matchup against Arizona State. For the tournament bracket, schedule information and television coverage, please click here to visit the tournament central page.

This week began with our women's basketball team earning a slew of honors from the Pac-12 Conference. Shaina Pellington was named Co-Most Improved Player in the league while earning a spot on the All-Pac-12 and All-Defensive Teams for the first time in her career. Cate Reese was also selected to the All-Pac-12 Team and became the second player in program history to earn All-Pac-12 honors in four seasons. Helena Pueyo joined Shaina on the All-Defensive Team for the second time in her career, and Esmery Martinez earned an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention selection.
March is an exciting time for our basketball programs as our student-athletes compete for championships on the biggest of stages and under the brightest of lights. Congratulations to our team on another great season, and we can't wait to see a lot of red and blue filling the stands of the Michelob Ultra Arena inside Mandalay Bay this week. Bear Down and Go Cats!

INAUGURAL PAC-12 SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT
The University of Arizona is proud to host the inaugural Pac-12 Softball Tournament at Mike Candrea Field at Rita Hillenbrand Stadium this May. Our athletics department will welcome the conference's softball programs to Tucson for games May 10 through May 13.
All session passes are now on sale to the public, and you can lock in your seats for some elite Pac-12 softball action by clicking here.
While over two months away still, we want the Wildcat Family to be able to make their plans to join us at our historic softball home for the league's first softball tournament. Hosting conference championships is a tremendous honor for our athletics department, and it is a testament to our first-class facilities and outstanding supporters who create a gameday atmosphere unlike any other.
5980 ACADEMIC FUND GETS OFF TO A QUICK START
Now that our month long 5980 Academic Fund awareness campaign has ended, we wanted to provide an update on progress that has been made over the last month. We were able to raise over $280,000 in February, enough to provide funding for 46 athletes. We cannot thank the individuals who took it upon themselves to help us get the 5980 Academic Fund off the ground! A very special thank you to our anonymous donors who played an integral role in our ability to provide 5980 Academic Funds to all student athletes! The 5980 Academic Fund will be annual push for our athletics department as we aim to take the student athletes experience here at the University of Arizona to the next level. If you haven't already gotten involved, we invite you to consider making a contribution today.
