Wildcat Wednesday

Wildcat Wednesday - Get Ready For the Spring Game

We are in the final week of Arizona Football's spring practices, which means the annual Spring Game is here. Set for 3:30 p.m. (MST) on Saturday, April 15 inside Arizona Stadium, the Arizona Football Spring Game is free to attend. With over 17,000 tickets out for Saturday, you can click here to reserve your complimentary ticket. Coach Fisch and the program will welcome back the Gronkowski Brothers, Chris McAlister and Antoine Cason among other alumni this weekend. The spring game continues to be a fun-filled event for the entire family under Coach Fisch, and this year's game will be no different.

Saturday's game is the focal point of the program's annual alumni reunion weekend as we welcome nearly 250 football letterwinners back to campus. This is always a special weekend to host our Wildcats of the past and celebrate their careers as student-athletes who proudly represented the University of Arizona. Our athletics department is excited to welcome all alumni back to Tucson for a weekend of memories. We can't wait to honor these alumni during Saturday's game. See you at Arizona Stadium on Saturday!

WELCOMING ARIZONA TRIATHLON

Arizona Athletics is hosting a meet and greet event with Arizona's newest program, Women's Triathlon, at 5 p.m. (MST) on Thursday, April 20 at Culinary Dropout on E. Grant Road in Tucson. Come meet Head Coach Wes Johnson and assistant coach Jocelyn Bonney to learn more about the program as well as Coach Johnson's vision for the future. Arizona Triathlon will begin official competition this Fall as Arizona's 22nd sport. To RSVP for next week's meet and greet, please click here

 CELEBRATING NATIONAL STUDENT ATHLETE DAY

On April 6th, we celebrated the athletic and academic achievements of our student-athletes as well as their contributions to their community. Arizona Athletics would not have the heart, drive, or legacy that we have today without our student-athletes. Thus, we recognize 88 student-athletes who have showcased the Wildcat Way by maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher and have completed more than 5 hours of community service within the last year. The Institute for Sport & Social Justice (ISSJ) created this national celebration to showcase student-athletes' virtues and the positive impact they have on their community and society as a whole. We are proud of the impact our student-athletes have in their respective sports, academics, and community and will continue to celebrate and highlight them throughout the year.

WILDCAT HEADLINES

SHOW YOUR COLORS

Summer Hammond is well known for fiercely supporting the Arizona Wildcats at her school in Phoenix. Today she was the only student in class gifted her own Arizona Wildcats Men's Basketball poster by her teacher's son.  Look what she just happened to be wearing for the occasion!

Send us your photos of you wearing the colors!

Thank you for wearing the colors and sharing your Arizona pride! Make sure to take a picture the next time you are wearing the colors and send it to us, we just might include it in next week's Wildcat Wednesday! And even if your photo submission doesn't make  next week's edition, please check our "Wear the Colors" album at facebook.com/ArizonaAthletics on Fridays.

NOTE: Please submit photos for Wildcat Wednesday with an original email to uofaad@arizona.edu using the subject line 'Wildcat Wednesday photo.' Also, please ensure all submissions are clear and properly lit. We also ask that you identify everyone in the photo so we can highlight them accordingly.
