The Trojans got the first win of the day when Volodymyr Iakubenko and Karl Lee defeated
Sasha Rozin and
Gustaf Strom 6-0. No. 24
Colton Smith and
Jay Friend defeated Peter Makk and Lodewijk Weststrate, 6-2, before
Herman Hoeyeraal and
Eric Padgham got the 6-4 win over Samuel Rubell and Niroop Vallabhaneni to clinch the doubles point.
The Cats went on to win three consecutive singles matches, No. 97 Hoeyeraal leading the way with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Karl Lee. No. 80
Gustaf Strom charted a 6-2, 6-3 win over No. 122 Weststrate before No. 24 Smith clinched the team victory over No. 73 Makk, 6-3, 7-5.
Arizona is back in action Sunday, March 24 at 12:00 p.m. MST as they travel to UCLA.
