TUCSON, Ariz. - No. 10 Arizona Men's Tennis (14-1) is hitting the road this week for a slate of matches against Michigan State, Kalamazoo College and No. 19 Central Florida.
The road slate will begin Wednesday, March 12, with the Cats facing off against Michigan State at 2:00 p.m. MST. Arizona will then head over to Kalamazoo for a match up on Thursday, March 13, also at 2:00 p.m. MST. The Cats met the Spartans for the first time last year, where they came out on top 4-1. This will be the first meeting between Arizona and Kalamazoo.Â
The Wildcats will officially kick off conference play this season on Sunday, March 16, against Big 12 opponent and 19 ranked UCF at 9:00 a.m. MST. The Knights claim the only win against Arizona this season, having defeated the Cats 4-3 back in January during ITA Kickoff Weekend.
Arizona currently has four ranked singles players:
Colton Smith at No. 3,
Jay Friend at No. 9,
Zoran Ludoski at No. 60 and
Oskar Jansson at No. 107. In the doubles poll, Wildcat pairs Smith and Inaki Cabrera-Bello are No. 54, while Friend and
Eric Padgham are No. 58.Â
Michigan State also has four players in the singles rankings, the highest claiming the No. 4 spot just below Smith.Â
