TUCSON, Ariz. - No. 8Â Men's Tennis is back home in Tucson this weekend for three matches at LaNelle Robson Tennis Center. Friday, March 7, the Cats will face off against St. John's at 10:00 a.m. MST and Northern Arizona at 2:00 p.m. MST. Sunday, March 9, Arizona will host Tulsa at noon.Â
The last time the Cats faced off against the Red Storm was last February, where Arizona came out on top 6-1. Arizona last saw NAU in a dual meet in 2023, winning 4-1 and putting their overall record against the Lumberjacks at 18-0. This will be only the second time the Cats have competed against Tulsa, the first being in 2023 where Arizona won 6-1.Â
Arizona is currently 11-1 in regular season play after winning out at the Diablo Invitational last weekend. In this week's ITA national polls, the Cats came in at No. 8 as a team. In the singles poll,
Colton Smith came in at No. 3,
Jay Friend at No. 9,
Zoran Ludoski at No. 60 and
Oskar Jansson at No. 107. In doubles, Smith and Inaki Cabrera debuted in the polls for the first time this year at No. 54. Friend and
Eric Padgham came in at No. 58 and
Casper Christensen and Cabrera-Bello at No. 73.Â
