Seattle, WA., The Wildcats couldn't keep up with No. 29 University of Washington as they were defeated 6-1 in Seattle today.
The Wildcats came out strong in doubles play, but couldn't hold on. Trent Botha and Shoki Kasahara were beat by Jake Douglas and Gal Hakak on court three 6-3, while Will Kneale and Oliver Plaskett were beat by Piers Foley Wendell Wantanabe 6-3 on court one, giving Washington a 1-0 lead.
Will Adkisson and Naoki Takeda were tied with Kawika Lam and Enzo Sommer on court two 5-5 until their match was abandoned.
Following doubles play, the Cats started singles play, where they fought hard against Washington but couldn't turn things around.
Harry Busby was beat by Gal Hakak 6-0, 6-1 on court three while Will Kneale was beat by Enzo Sommer 6-2, 6-2 on court two, giving Washington a 3-0 lead.
No. 61 Naoki Takeda was beat by No. 84 Mitch Stewart 6-1, 6-3 on court one, clinching the match for Washington.
Will Adkisson fought hard in both sets but fell to Kawika Lam 7-5, 7-5 on court six. Shoki Kasahara was beat by Jake Douglas on court four 6-2, 7-6, making it a 6-0 Washington lead.
Oliver Plaskett put Arizona's first point on the board, as he defeated Joao Barra 7-6, 6-2 on court five, making it 6-1.
The Wildcats will take on UCLA this Friday at 1:30 p.m. MST and USC on Sunday at 12 p.m. MST.
