TUCSON, Ariz.– Arizona drops their second-straight dual meet, losing to California on the women's side 118-179 and the men 127-164. The Cats notch eight wins in the loss to the Bears.
Swim Strengths
Hannah Cox won the 1,000 free for the sixth time this season with 10:09.92.
Mallory Korenwinder took first in the 100 breast with 1:02.90.
Mackenzie Rumrill earned gold in a come-from-behind win in the 200 fly with 1:59.38 and
Kirsten Jacobsen placed first in the 500 free with 4:54.93.
Dive Sweep
Delaney Schnell and
Eric Correa completed the sweep for the Cats in diving. Schnell earned 342.45 in the 1m and 317.10 in the 3m. Freshman Correa finished with 319.35 in the 1m and 335.48 in the 3m.
Meet Results by Event
Arizona women took second in the 200 medley relay with 1:40.79. The men finished third with 1:29.89.
Ayumi Macias placed third in the 1,000 free with 10:14.38.
Christian Imbus also finished third for the men with 9:35.92.
Sarah Shimomura (1:50.39) and
Jorge Iga (1:38.72) each placed third in the 200 free.
Aria Bernal finished third in the 100 back with 55.05 and
Matt Salerno placed third with 56.02 in the men's 100 breast.
Mik Ranslem finished runner-up with 2:01.48 in the 200 fly. For the men,
Brendan Meyer finished third with 1:48.35.
Ashley Sutherland (23.26) and
Marin Ercegovic (20.52) each placed third in the 50 free.
Sutherland took third in the 100 free with 51.00 and
Noah Reid finished third with 45.01.
Daniela Georges (2:01.44) and
Thomas Anderson (1:51.38) each finished third in the 200 back.
Francesca Neubauer finished second in the 200 breast with 2:18.15, just 0.11 short of first. Korenwinder placed third (2:20.68).
Sam Iida placed second for the men, with 2:00.81.
Cox finished runner-up in the 500 free with 4:57.59 and
Daniel Namir placed third for the men (4:35.64).
Rumrill (54.30) finished third in the 100 fly. Reid took first for the men with 49.39.
Georges (4:25.25) placed second and Ranslem (4:29.93) third in the 400 IM.
Etay Gurevich finished first in the men's 400 IM with 3:57.03.
Isaac Stump placed second with 3:59.29.
Arizona women's 400 free relay closed out the meet with a third-place finish with 3:29.54. The men finished first with 3:00.62.
