SPECIAL SATURDAY AT ARIZONA STADIUM

We are excited to be back at Arizona Stadium this week after Saturday's win over Northern Arizona. We saw plenty of supporters enjoying our newest fan experience enhancements on the west side as well as the pregame festivities in the Davis Sports Center, so make your pregame tailgating plans now for Saturday and #BackTheA at Arizona Stadium. The University of Arizona campus is a terrific environment on game days and Saturdays are special because all of Arizona supports our football program.

Coach Sumlin and the Wildcats host Texas Tech at 7:30 p.m. (MST) this Saturday for a WHITE OUT at Arizona Stadium. We want fans to wear white to the Texas Tech game, and this week's special game day shirt from UA BookStores is perfect for the WHITE OUT. This is just the second White Out in program history with the last time being the memorable "Hill Mary" game in 2014 versus California. Click here to get your tickets for Saturday's game.

WILDCATS AT DBACKS

What a great night to be a Wildcat at the U of A Night last Wednesday at Chase Field as the Diamondbacks took on the Padres. Arizona Baseball head coach Jay Johnson threw out the first pitch with the help of former Wildcat Kevin Ginkel behind the plate. Coach Johnson and Ginkel were featured in the pregame show as well. Thank you to Fox Sports Arizona for spotlighting the terrific people who have been a part of our baseball program.

The night was made even more special when former Wildcat, and Tucson native, Seth Mejias-Brean, was called up by the Padres and made his debut as a pinch hitter on U of A Night. It was a very memorable moment for Seth who became the 82nd Wildcat to play in the major leagues.

GOLF REUNION

In addition to our University of Arizona Hall of Fame induction last week, we hosted an alumni weekend for Arizona Men's and Women's Golf. Wildcats from throughout the decades came back to Tucson for a weekend of golf and reuniting. A special recognition on the field was made during the football game. We were excited that newly-inducted Hall of Fame golf letterwinner Alison Walshe was able to come back for this amazing weekend. It is always an honor to see so many former student-athletes return to the place that means so much to them. Thank you Arizona Golf alums for sharing your love of being a Wildcat with us and for being great ambassadors for the program, the athletics department and the University of Arizona.

DAVE MURRAY INVITATIONAL

Arizona Cross County returns to action this weekend for the annual Dave Murray Invitational in Tucson. The Wildcats got off to a strong start in their first meet of the season, and look to continue that momentum into Friday's race at 5 p.m. (MST) at Randolph North Golf Course. Admission is free at meets, so come cheer on the Wildcats before heading over to Bear Down Friday at Main Gate Square!

HONORING HALL OF FAMERS

hof

Last Thursday was a memorable night for all Wildcats as we officially inducted the 2019 class of the University of Arizona Sports Hall of Fame. We recognized and honored seven Wildcats from six different programs for reaching the pinnacle of the Wildcat Way. The honor was mine to be on hand for this tremendous night and to see the impact being a Wildcat had on these great Arizona student-athletes and coaches. Being inducted into a Hall of Fame is one of the great honors of any career and I want to congratulate this special group of Wildcats on this tremendous accomplishment.

HOT START FOR SOCCER

soccer

Arizona Soccer is red hot and rolling with a perfect 4-0 start to the season. The Wildcats have scored 15 goals in their four victories and are one of only two schools in the nation to not allow a goal this season. Sophomore Brooke Wilson leads the team with four goals with two assists, and junior Jada Talley has a team-high four assists to go with a pair of goals. This is an outstanding start for our soccer program as it continues to build its legacy of excellence. Best of luck to the entire program this weekend versus Santa Clara and San Jose State in California.

#CATSGIVEBACK

give-back

Arizona Athletics staff donated their time and blood to the American Red Cross Blood Drive yesterday afternoon in McKale Center. We were able to complete successful donations that will go on to save a potential of 54 lives. This initiative is part of our Drop-In Community Service effort where we invite a different non-profit organization from the community to McKale to get our student-athletes and staff members volunteering together in a hands-on way. This is just one of the many ways #CatsGiveBack in our Southern Arizona community.
