2016: Indoors, Thompson was one of the few pentathlon competitors for Arizona during the indoor season and she made her mark by setting personal records in a few events. She set a personal best time in the 800-meter race at the UW Invitational with a time of 2:22.75. Thompson went on to set a personal best in the shot put with a mark of 35 ft. - 8 in. (10.87m) at the UW Invitational. Thompson had a season-high pentathlon score of 3,807 points at the UW Invitational for sixth-place … Outdoors, Thompson had a breakout heptathlon season during the 2016 outdoor campaign. She set seven personal best marks in various heptathlon events. She ran a personal best time in the 200-meter at 24.54 seconds at the Pac-12 Multis, a time of 2:17.95 in the 800-meter at the Pac-12 Multis, a time of 14.30 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles at the NCAA Championships, a mark of 138 ft. - 6 in. (42.21m) in the javelin throw at the Pac-12 Multis, a mark of 19 ft. - 11 in. (6.07m) in the long jump set at the NCAA Championships, a mark of 5 ft. - 6.5 in. (1.68m) in the high jump she set at the Pac-12 Multis, and lastly Thompson set a personal best mark in the shot put at 37 ft. - 1in. (11.30m) set at the Pac-12 Multis. Thompson set a personal record in her total heptathlon score at the Pac-12 Multi Championships with a score of 5,580 for an astounding second-place finish. That brought Thompson to the NCAA Championships where she placed 14th overall with a score of 5,514 points that earned her second-team All-America honors.
2015: Indoors, took third place in the pentathlon at the MPSF Championships with a new personal best score of 3,904 … While at the MPSF Championships, she set a personal best in the 600-meter hurdles with a time of 8.91 … Also finished in third place at the New Mexico Classic in the pentathlon with a score of 3,829 … She set a personal best in the high jump at the New Mexico Classic with a mark of 5-6 (1.67m) … Set a new personal best in the long jump at the NAU Friday Duals with a jump of 19-11.75 (6.08m), good for a first-place finish … Tossed a personal best mark of 35-0.5 (10.68m) in the shot put at the NAU Friday duals ... Outdoors, took sixth place at the Pac-12 Championships in the heptathlon with a personal best score of 5,343 … Set a personal best in the 200-meter dash (24.69), 800-meter run (2:23.58) and the 100-meter hurdles (14.34) at the Pac-12 Championships … Finished in third place in the heptathlon at the Jim Click Shootout with a score of 5,320 … She set a personal best in the shot put with a toss of 34-9 (10.59m) and the long jump (19-9.5 , 6.03m) while competing at the Jim Click Shootout … Competed in the long jump at the NCAA West Preliminaries and set a personal best in all conditions with a mark of 20-2.25 (6.15m , +2.7w), good for 14th place … Clocked a time of 63.01 in the 400-meter hurdles at the Arizona-ASU Dual meet, good for a fifth-place finish and a new personal best … Set another personal best at the Arizona-ASU Dual meet in the javelin throw with a toss of 133-2 (40.58m).
BEFORE ARIZONA: Thompson attended Wake Forest University for the 2014 season … She competed in the pentathlon during the indoor season, posting a season-best mark of 3,813, a school record at Wake Forest … Outdoors, in the heptathlon she had a personal-best score of 5,343 … She earned All-ACC honors in the events … Thompson also earned All-ACC Academic honors indoor and outdoor and USTFCCCA All-Academic accolades as well.
HIGH SCHOOL: Thompson graduated from Salpointe Cathlolic High School in Tucson … She was named the team’s Most Valuable Player her sophomore, junior and senior years … She earned all-conference honors all four years of her career and as a senior she was named all-region Athlete of the Year … She competed at the USA Track and Field Junior Outdoor Championships in the heptathlon … As a senior, Thompson won the Arizona State Championship in the long jump, triple jump, 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles … As a junior, she won the Arizona State Championship in the triple jump … Thompson has school records in the 100-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles, long jump, triple jump and heptathlon … She was a member of the National Honors Society and was a member of the Honor Roll all four years.
PERSONAL: She is the daughter of Douglas and Loree Thompson … She has a sister, Haylee … Thompson is pursuing a degree in physiology.
