Was three-year letterwinner at Buena High School in Ventura, Calif.…compiled 21 wins and boasted a 1.34 ERA, while totaling 229 strikeouts in 177 innings pitched during high school career…recorded six complete games during his time there and compiled an 8-2 record during his senior season for a career-best winning percentage of .800 to go along with a 1.28 ERA and 95 punch outs in 65.2 innings pitched… earned a spot on the 2015 Perfect Game High School Senior Preseason All-America Second Team, the 2015 Perfect Game Preseason California Region All High School Senior First Team, while he was also named a 2014 Perfect Game Underclass Honorable Mention.

Personal
Graduated Buena High School in Ventura, Calif., in 2015…was drafted by the Cleveland Indians as the 814th overall pick in the 27th round of the 2015 MLB Amateur Draft.  

Why Arizona?
“I’m so excited to come play for the University of Arizona and wear that block A with pride. It was a great feeling getting drafted by the Indians, but coach Johnson convinced me the college route was the way to go. It’s funny because Hi Corbett Field used to be the spring training home for the Indians, so maybe it was a sign. I’m eager to learn from some of these older guys and experienced coaches. I’m already counting down the days until the season opener.”
