2016 (XC): Beer competed in five meets overall throughout the 2016 campaign. His season was highlighted by two top-20 finishes. Beer took 13th-place at the Dave Murray Invitational and finished in 20th-place at the George Kyte Classic. Beer would go on to finish in 76th at the Pac-12 championships.
2016: Beer competed in the 800-meter race and the 1,500-meter race throughout the 2016 outdoor campaign. He placed first in a 1,500-meter race at Arizona’s Willie Williams Classic with a time of 3:58.01. At the same meet he would finish in eighth-place in an 800-meter race with a time of 1:57.97. Beer would go on to have two more top-10 finishes in the 1,500-meter race with a third-place finish (3:55.86) at the Brutus Hamilton Invite and a seventh-place (4:04.25) finish at the ASU Duel in the Desert. His season-best time came at the ASU Invitational where he placed 20th overall with a time of 3:54.58.
2015 (XC): Placed ninth overall at the George Kyte Classic with a time of 23:36.90 in the 4.5-mile race… Earned a 15th-place finish at the U of A Cross Country Twilight with a time of 22:23 in the four-mile run… Finished in 12th place at the ASU Cross Country Invitational with a time of 21:36.20 in the four-mile race.
2015: Indoors, Beer set a season-best time at the UW Invitational in the 3K with a time of 8:21.75, good for a 27th-place finish … Finished the indoor season at the MPSF Championships by running the 3K in 8:31.42 … Competed in the mile run at the MPSF Championships and set a personal-best time of 4:11.23, good for 18th place … Took fourth place at the Husky Classic in the mile run with a time of 4:13.47 … Outdoors, he set a new personal best in the 800-meter race at the Willie Williams Classic with a time of 1:57.14, good for fifth place overall … Beer set another personal best at the Mt. SAC Relays in the 1,500-meter race by clocking a time of 3:50.44 and finished in 14th place … Took third place at the Arizona-ASU Dual meet in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:51.95.
2014: Indoors, Beer’s personal-best time of 4:11.23 in the mile came at the MPSF Championships, good for an 18th-place finish … He also ran at the Husky Classic and the UW Invitational … Outdoors, at the ASU Invitational, Beer had a personal-best time of 4:00.08 in the 1,500-meter race and finished in 12th place.
2013 (XC): At the George Kyte Classic, Beer finished the 8K in 26:28.6, good for 15th place overall and second among UA runners … He took sixth place overall in the Dave Murray Invitational with a time of 22:12.48 in the 4.25-mile race … Beer also scored for the Wildcats at Roy Griak Invitational, taking 74th place (4th Wildcat finisher) in the 8K with a time of 25:33.
HIGH SCHOOL: Beer, a graduate of Wesley College in Australia, was the cross country team captain his senior year and was the team MVP in 2010 and 2011 … He holds the school record in the 1,500-meter race with a time of 3:50.0 … At the 2011 Australian Junior Championships, Beer earned a first-place finish in the 1,500-meter race.
PERSONAL: He is the son of Helen Smyth and Andrew Beer … He was born in Queensland, Australia … He has one brother, Nicholas … He is pursuing a degree in business management.
