2016 (XC): Gaffney competed in three overall meets throughout the 2016 cross country season. Her top race came at the ASU Invitational where she came in eighth-place overall.
2015: Gaffney did not compete during the indoor season … Outdoors, set a personal best in the 800-meter run at the ASU Invitational with a time of 2:23.66 … Took 10th place at the Willie Williams Classic by clocking a time of 5:04.72 … Ran the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Arizona-ASU Dual meet in 11:29.97, good for third place … Took fourth place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Jim Click Shootout with a time of 12:01.94.
2014 (XC): Gaffney redshirted during the cross country season.
2014: Indoors, Gaffney redshirted the season … Outdoors, Gaffney’s personal-best time of 4:53.49 in the 1,500-meter race came at the Pepsi Oregon Dual, good for sixth place overall.
2013 (XC): Gaffney competed in the George Kyte Classic for the Wildcats, finishing in 26th place overall (eighth among UA women) with a 5K time of 18:44.6 … Her time of 18:57.05 in the three-mile race at the Dave Murray Invitational was good for 25th place overall (eighth Wildcat finisher) … At the Thunderbird Classic, Gaffney was the top Wildcat finisher, earning fifth place overall with a time of 18:31.1 on the 5,000-meter course.
HIGH SCHOOL: A graduate of Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix, Ariz., Gaffney was the team captain for cross country and track her junior and senior year … She earned all-region and all-state honors all four years for cross country … She received the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) Scholar Athlete Honor Roll award all four years … She was also a member of the National Honor Society for her last three years of high school … Her team won the Arizona State Cross Country Championship all four years.
PERSONAL: She is the daughter of Jocelyn and Tim Gaffney … She has one sister, Savannah … She is pursuing a degree in physiology and aspires to be a sports orthopedic surgeon.
