2016: Indoors, Gardenkrans had a solid debut for Arizona in the indoor season where he managed to finish in the top-15 for the shot put in all five meets he competed in. His season-best mark came at the MPSF Championships where he tossed a mark of 56 ft. - 7.5 in. (17.25m).  Outdoors, Gardenkrans competed in the shot put and discus throw throughout the 2016 outdoor season. Gardenkrans finished in ninth-place with a mark of 163 ft. - 10 in. (49.93m) for the discus throw at the Pac-12 Championships and in 11th-place for the shot put with a mark of 57 ft. - 10.25 in. (17.63m). His season-best marks both came at the ASU Invitational where he tossed a mark of 58 ft. - 10 in. (17.93m) in the shot put for a seventh-place finish and 180 ft. - 0 in. (54.86m) in the discus throw for a third-place finish.

2015: Redshirted during the indoor and outdoor seasons.

HIGH SCHOOL: Gardenkrans graduated from Malmö Borgarskola in Sweden … He is a shot putter, discus thrower and hammer thrower … He earned a sixth-place finish at the 2011 IAAF World Youth Championships in the discus … He was also an IAAF World Junior Championships qualifier … He holds the youth record in the discus for Sweden.

PERSONAL: He is the son of Kenth and Gunnel Hettmon … He was born in Helsingborg, Sweden and has three brothers and two sisters … Gardenkrans is pursuing a degree in physical education.
