AUSTIN, Texas– Junior
Hannah Cox won the 1,650 Free with a personal-best 15:57.89, an NCAA B cut and fourth fastest in Arizona school history.
Head Coach Augie Busch had nothing but good things to say about the team's performance, "There are many positive takeaways from this week. We had a lot of great results and qualified several individuals and relays for NCAA Championships, which is always a goal at this mid season meet."
He adds, "More important, however, is the continuing emergence of an unselfish, team-centered culture. It was on full display this week from our team and that perhaps is what I'm most proud of. These men and women truly understand and appreciate the power of inspiring their teammates through courageous racing and supportive energy and attitude. I could not be prouder of all of them. A truly special culture is rooting. We look forward to heading into the championship season with great hunger and passion."
Cox placed first in the mile to open the last night of the finals. She won by roughly 10 seconds and notched the fourth-fastest time in Wildcat history.
Kirsten Jacobsen finished runner-up with 16:06.28, an NCAA B cut.
Ayumi Macias placed fourth with 16:11.88. The junior transfer is now eighth-fastest all time in Arizona school history.
Brooks Fail finished runner-up in the 1,650 free for the men with a personal-best 14:43.90. The sophomore earned an NCAA B cut and is now fifth-fastest in school history.
Jerad Kaskawal and
Christian Imbus also earned NCAA B cuts with 15:12.33 and 15:17.45, respectively.
Daniela Georges finished third in the 200 back with 1:55.66, an NCAA B cut.
Aria Bernal finished runner-up in the B final with 1:57.44.
Ayumi Macias placed fifth in the C final with 2:02.17.
Isaac Stump finished runner-up in the B final with 1:43.70, earning an NCAA B cut.
Thomas Anderson placed right behind him with 1:44.18,
Brooks Fail sixth (1:44.78), and
Matt Lujan eighth with 1:45.57.
Katrina Konopka placed sixth with 48.58, earning an NCAA B cuts.
Ashley Sutherland placed fourth in the B final with 49.11.
Kirsten Jacobsen (49.93) and
Kayla Filipek (50.55) finished sixth and seventh, respectively.
Jamie Stone won the C final with 49.68,
Taylor Nations fourth (50.24), and
Alayna Connor (50.64) sixth.
Jorge Iga finished sixth with 43.20, an NCAA B cut.
Marin Ercegovic won the B final with 43.60 and
Noah Reid runner-up with 43.73, both NCAA B cuts.
Aldan Johnston won the C final with 44.24 and
Daniel Namir third for 44.53.
Mallory Korenwinder placed seventh with 2:14.41. Fancesca Neubauer won the B final with 2:13.83, earning an NCAA B cut.
Kati Hage placed sixth with 2:19.52 in the B final.
Matt Salerno finished runner-up in the B final and
Sam Iida third with 1:56.25 and 1:58.29, respectively.
Mackenzie Rumrill finished eighth in the 200 fly with 1:57.96, earning an NCAA B cut.
Mik Ranslem (2:00.40) and
Victoria Navarro (2:00.74) finished seventh and eighth in the B final, respectively.
Brendan Meyer placed third in the 200 fly for the men with 1:43.39, an NCAA B cut.
Mathias Oh placed second in the B final with 1:45.24 (NCAA B cut).
Ty Coen finished eighth in the B final with 1:49.67.

Jamie Stone finished third in the 400 free relay with 3:15.42, earning an NCAA B cut. The men's A team, consisting of
Chatham Dobbs,
Jorge Iga,
Noah Reid, and
Marin Ercegovic also placed third, with 2:52.02 (NCAA B cut).
