HAPPY THANKSGIVING

On behalf of Arizona Athletics, I want to wish all our fans, alumni and supporters a very happy Thanksgiving. Our community in Southern Arizona and beyond truly makes our department a Wildcat family. When I look back and reflect on the many things we have to be thankful for, I am reminded of how wonderful the Wildcat Family is!

From finishing numerous construction projects to continuous record-breaking performances in the classroom to the completion of our first-ever comprehensive strategic plan, there are so many things to be proud of.

We have more tremendous accomplishments in our future to be thankful for. These are exciting times at Arizona Athletics, and I am honored to lead such a terrific department. Thank you to everyone who cheers on and supports our programs for your unwavering commitment and have a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Bear Down and Go Cats!

TERRITORIAL CUP

This is a big week for Arizona Football as the team plays in the 93rd annual Territorial Cup game. The Wildcats will face the Sun Devils in Tempe on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 8 p.m. (MST) on ESPN. I want to wish all of our fans safe travels as they head up to Arizona State to Bear Down. We will see you in Tempe on Saturday night as we cheer on the Wildcats!

VOLLEYBALL SENIOR DAY

volleyball

Arizona Volleyball will close out the regular season with a Senior Day match versus Arizona State at 12 p.m. (MST) on Saturday, Nov. 30. The program will be honoring six Wildcats who are playing their final match in McKale Center.

Devyn Cross, Shardonee Hayes, Makenna Martin, Julia Patterson, Emi Pua'a and Liz Shelton have combined to play in over 500 matches in an Arizona uniform as the group has helped write some of the latest chapters of the legacy of Arizona Volleyball. Come cheer on these seniors and Bear Down in McKale on Saturday afternoon. Click here to get your tickets for this weekend's match against Arizona State.

ARIZONA SOCCER PRIDE

soccer

We want to congratulate Arizona Soccer on another outstanding season. While the thrilling match versus Penn State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament didn't end the way we wanted to, we are extremely proud of the student-athletes in our program and its coaches and staff.

Our soccer program continues to build its legacy of excellence and as a point of pride for the University of Arizona. Arizona Soccer made the NCAA Tournament for a third consecutive year for the first time ever and has won at least one match in each of its last five postseason appearances. The young women who take the field in Arizona uniforms are achieving great things athletically, academically and in our community. Bear Down and Go Cats.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT

hairgrove

If you've been at an Arizona Athletics event in the last two decades, then you will probably recognize Director of Athletic Facilities Mike Hairgrove. Mike is a tremendous asset of our department who does so many things, including scoreboard maintenance, oversight of official's video replay in McKale, turning around venues for game day set up for different teams and much more.

Since beginning work in our athletics department as a student in 1994, Mike has become synonymous with all our Wildcat programs. He and his crew work tirelessly behind the scenes running all of our home events and do so with great pride.

One of Mike's favorite memories is Mark Lyons' dramatic game-winning shot against Florida in McKale during the 2012-13 season. This is just one of the countless memories he's witnessed at the many home events he's helped operate.

Thank you Mike and thank you to your team for everything you do. You are truly one of our great Wildcats and a star in our athletics department!

ALL-WORLD WILDCAT

dalbec

Former Wildcat Bobby Dalbec is continuing his meteoric rise through professional baseball. Bobby, who was a member of Arizona's 2016 College World Series team, has been named to the All-World Team by the World Baseball Softball Confederation for his performance as a member of Team USA in the Premier12 Tournament in Tokyo.

Bobby was also recently added to the Boston Red Sox's 40-man roster earlier this month after finishing last season with Triple-A Pawtucket.

Bear Down Bobby! You continue to make us proud and carry on the rich legacy of Arizona Baseball in the professional ranks.
