AUSTIN, Texas - The Wildcats and Gators traded blows all afternoon following a three hour delay due to weather, but ultimately the Wildcats came up short on the afternoon 4-2.
Arizona stuck first by winning the doubles point through the efforts of duo
Carlos Hassey and
Alejandro Reguant, followed by
Filip Malbasic and
Gustaf Strom. The Cats stayed hot through the first set before the Gators regained their footing. Three of the singles matches were taken to three sets and No. 9 Florida was able to sneak past the Cats. No. 105 Strom had the only singles win on the day with his first ranked victory of his college career.
Arizona will play the loser between Liberty and No. 6 Texas tomorrow.
