Biography
High School: A four-time letterwinner at East Lake High School…Was team captain his senior year and MVP his freshman, sophomore and senior year…Made the All-Conference, All-City, All-District, All-Region and All-State teams all four years…Named a USA Swimming All-American as a junior…Was the 2015 state champion in the 200 IM…Holds the school records in the 200 IM (1:49.06) and 500 free (4:26.37)…Team was runner-up at the state championships.
Personal: Born Grant Laurence Sanders in August of 1997 to Gary and Jody Sanders…Has a younger brother, Payton and a younger sister, Janae…Younger brother Vance passed away at age 15, who is now his inspiration for swimming…Planned major in Entrepreneurship and Real Estate at Arizona…Liked to go boating, jet ski, kayak and fish in his free time…Chose Arizona over Florida State Auburn and Texas because of the coaches’ support and the academics.
