2015-16: Had the fourth-fastest time on the team in the 400 IM with 3:56.40 and fifth-fastest in the 200 IM with 1:48.49…At the Texas Invitational, finished second in the C final of the 400 IM (3:56.40), fifth in the C final of the 200 fly (1:48.94) and sixth in the D final of the 100 fly (50.66)…At the Pac-12 Championships, took fourth in the C final of the 400 IM with a time of 3:59.54.
Prior to Arizona: Attended the University of Louisville from 2013-2015…Won the Freshman Perseverance Award…Team was the AAC Conference Champions…Recorded best times of 1:47.01 (200 fly), 1:50.25 (200 IM), 3:56.67 (400 IM), 55.91 (100 breast) and 49.08 (100 fly).
High School: A three-time letterwinner at Eastwood High School in the 100 fly, 200 IM, 200 medley relay, 200 free relay and 400 free relay…Was team captain junior and senior year and MVP sophomore, junior and senior year…Made All-City, All-District and All-Region First Team during his sophomore, junior and senior year…Was named two-time All-City Swimmer of the Year…Made All-State Second Team sophomore year and First Team junior and senior year…Named a five-time NISCA All-American (2-200 IM, 100 fly, 200 free and academic)…Was the three-time District and Regional Swimmer of the Year…Received USA Swimming Scholastic All-America honors…Holds the school records in the 100 fly, 200 IM and 200 medley relay.
Personal: Born Joe Shane Eiden Brown in August of 1995 to Joe and Rose Brown…Has an older half-brother and older half-sister…Planned major in Physiology/Pharmacy…Likes to cook and bike in his free time…Chose Arizona over ASU, Missouri, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Utah because of the “legendary head coach, innovative coaching staff, electric team atmosphere, world class academics and training”.
