FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - 10 swimmers plus one diver earned spots in the finals in the first full day of Pac-12 Championships. Arizona is currently in fifth place with 320 points, just 3 points behind USC in fourth.

Head Coach Augie Busch comments on tonight's performance, "After a pretty flat morning our women responded very well tonight.  They showed great competitive fight and I am so proud of that in particular."
 
Personal Bests
In the 500 free, Ayumi Macias won the C final with 4:41.78 (NCAA B cut). The junior set a personal-best and moves up to eighth-fastest in school history.
 
Mackenzie Rumrill placed third in the B final of the 200 IM, improving by over a second from prelims. The senior moved up to eighth-fastest in school history in the event with a personal-best 1:57.49. Mik Ranslem finished second in the C final with 1:57.94, a personal-best and tenth-fastest in school history.
 
Kayla Filipek, 22.40, placed fourth in the 50 free B final. Alayna Connor won the C final with 22.60. Both women posted personal bests.
 
Season Bests
In the 50 free, Jamie Stone (22.45) placed fourth in the B final, earning a season-best. Taylor Nations placed third with 22.75 in the C final, posting a season best and NCAA B cut.
 
Additional Results
Kirsten Jacobsen finished fourth in prelims of the 500 free with 4:38.37. In the A final, the junior finished eighth. 
 
Senior Katrina Konopka tied-for-sixth in the 50 free with 22.24. Ashley Sutherland finished right behind the freshman for second (22.61).

Delaney Schnell finished second in the 1m finals with 326.00. 
 
The 200 free relay A team finished fourth in the 200 free relay. Stone, Konopka, Filipek, and Connor posted a 1:28.96.
 
Up Next: Looking ahead to tomorrow and Saturday, Busch notes, "Our best two days are ahead of us.  We are positioned well to have a great overall meet and need to take advantage of every opportunity from here on out."
