Wildcat Wednesday - Graduation 2023

It was an honor to be a part of our Student-Athlete Convocation in McKale Center last week as 100 student-athletes officially became alumni of the University of Arizona. Graduation marks the fulfillment of lifelong dreams for these Wildcats who have achieved excellence in the classroom, in competition and as representatives of our community. Living the Wildcat Way and earning a diploma is a journey that requires years of hard work, sacrifice and determination, but it is one of the most rewarding moments that we celebrate as an athletics department.

The 2023 class of Arizona Athletics graduates is made up of national champions, Pac-12 champions, All-Americans, Academic All-Americans and much more. It is a group of Wildcats who truly represent our mission to develop academic, athletic and life champions, and it was a privilege to recognize them alongside their families, friends, loved ones, teammates and coaches. The Wildcat Family is incredibly proud of this marquee accomplishment. Congratulations again to our 2023 graduates on a job well done. Bear Down and Go Cats!

BEAR DOWN ARIZONA BASEBALL

After thrilling wins over Stanford and UC Irvine on back-to-back nights, Arizona Baseball returns to the friendly confines of Hi Corbett Field for its final homestand of the season. The Wildcats will welcome the USC Trojans for a three-game series that begins with a first pitch at 7 p.m. (MST) on Thursday, May 18. Hi Corbett Field is closing out another season as one of the top college baseball atmospheres, and we want to end the season with more great crowds in the stands.

Saturday's series finale, scheduled for 6 p.m. (MST), will be the program's Senior Night as we recognize the eight outstanding Wildcats playing in their final home game. Senior Night is always a special celebration as we pay tribute to the outstanding careers of our student-athletes who have represented the Block A with pride. Please mark your calendars to join us on Saturday night for a final tip of the cap to these outstanding Wildcats. To purchase your baseball tickets for games this week, please click here.

WOMEN'S GOLF TO COMPETE FOR NATIONAL TITLE

Arizona Women's Golf's quest for its fourth national title begins on Friday, May 19 at the NCAA Championships in Scottsdale. Coach Ianello and the Wildcats, who won the NCAA Raleigh Regional last week, will take on the best of the best at Grayhawk Golf Club. Admission is free for fans, so let's make Scottsdale Wildcat Country and fill up the gallery with red and blue.

The format of the NCAA Golf Championships is three days of stroke play before a cut to the top 15 teams for a fourth and final day of stroke competition. The individual NCAA champion is crowned as the top eight remaining teams begin two days of match play. It's an incredibly exciting format that creates a world-class golf environment.

You can visit ArizonaWildcats.com and @ArizonaWGolf on social media for daily tee times, Golf Channel broadcast information, score updates and much more during the Wildcats' run at Grayhawk Golf Club. We will see you in Scottsdale later this week. Bear Down and Go Cats!

WILDCATS FOR LIFE IN COLLEGE OF MEDICINE

On behalf of the Wildcat Family, I would like to congratulate the 2023 class of graduates from the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Our most recent class of Wildcat doctors includes UA Letterwinners Grant Collins from Arizona Cheer, Jake Matthews from Arizona Football and Alyssa Thompson from Arizona Track & Field.

This is an outstanding moment of pride for our athletics department as three former Wildcats have continued living the Wildcat Way by earning their medical degrees from our prestigious College of Medicine. By becoming the future medical leaders, our academic, athletic and life champions are setting a standard of academic excellence.

Congratulations again to Grant, Jake and Alyssa as well as all the other graduates from the College of Medicine on this tremendous accomplishment. We are proud to call you all Wildcats for Life!
