2016: Indoors, Houston was a part of the 4x400 squad that took fourth-place at the MPSF Championships with a time of 3:11.45. Additionally, he was apart of the distance medley relay team that took ninth at the MPSF Championships with a time of 10:10.77. Individually, Houston competed in the 400-meter race twice and the 600-meter race once. His season-best time in the 400-meter came at the NAU Tune-Up where he clocked in at 48.82 seconds for a fifth-place finish. Outdoors, Houston earned All-America honorable mention in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of for a 19th-place finish. They ran the second-best time in Arizona history at the prelims with a time of 3:05.44. Houston also ran personal best times in the 200 and 400-meter races. He ran a time of 21.77 seconds at the Willie Williams Classic for a tenth-place finish. Houston flashed his talents in the 400-meter race where he finished fifth overall at the Pac-12 Championships with a time of 47.14 for All-Pac-12 honors. He would go on to finish in 27th-place at the NCAA West prelims.
2015: Indoors, Houston competed in three meets in the 400-meter sprint … He set a season-best time of 48.77 at the MPSF Championships and finished in 18th place overall … Took ninth place at the Mountain T’s Invite with a time of 49.75 … Outdoors, Houston was a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that broke a school record at the NCAA West Prelims with a time of 3:04.51 along with Blake Eichler, Pete Lauderdale III and Miles Parish … Houston ran the 400-meter sprint in seven events … He set a personal best time in the 400-meter sprint at the Pac-12 Championships with a time of 47.26, good for an eighth-place finish … Took third place at the Arizona-ASU Dual meet with a time of 47.74 … Finished the year at the NCAA West Prelims and clocked a time of 47.95.
2014: Indoors, Houston clocked a personal-best time of 22.21 in the 200-meter dash at the MPSF Championships, good for 21st place overall … Houston ran 48.01 at the Don Kirby Elite in the 400-meter sprint, a personal-best time that was good for 12th place … He finished in 14th place overall at the MPSF Championships in the event with a time of 48.61 … Houston was also a member of the 4x400-meter relay team along with Miles Parish, Neil Houlihan and Avery Mickens … They had a season-best time of 3:14.75 at the Don Kirby Elite … At the MPSF Championships, the quartet finished in ninth place with a time of 3:14.91 … Outdoors, Houston ran a wind-aided 21.80 in the 200-meter dash at the Jim Click Shootout … His fastest wind-legal time came at the Willie Williams Classic, running 22.14 … In the 400-meter race, Houston’s personal best came at the Jim Click Shootout with a time of 48.06 … Houston ran on the 4x100-meter relay team and 4x400-meter relay team … Houston, Mohammad Alhasan, John Kane and Harry Zimmerman ran a season-best time of 40.77 at the UA-ASU-NAU Double Dual, taking second place … At the Pac-12 Championships, Zimmerman, Alhasan, Houston and Mickens finished in ninth place with a time of 41.95.
HIGH SCHOOL: A graduate of Rodriguez High School, Houston was the team captain and team MVP his senior year … Also a senior, he earned first-team all-conference, all-city, all-district, all-region and all-state accolades … At the CIF State Championships, he took seventh place in the 400-meter run … He holds the school record with a time of 47.59 … He was voted the 2013 Daily Republic Prep Athlete of the Year … He also played football and played at the varsity level as a sophomore … He was also recruited by Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, Arizona State and others.
PERSONAL: He is the son of Linda and Robert Houston and was born in Vallejo, Calif. … He has a brother, Jarred, who played football at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo from 2007 to 2011 … He is a communication major and aspires to be a sports broadcaster.
